Romans 5:2
Ever wondered how deep God’s love truly runs?
Beyond the cross, beyond our sins, lies an incredible truth: not only has Christ’s sacrifice removed God’s anger towards sinners, but it has also elevated Christians to a place of extreme favor.
Imagine this: you, as a Christian, are not just forgiven, but favored by God. It’s not just about being let off the hook; it’s about being embraced and celebrated in the very grace we stand in.
Remember the words from Romans 5:2, “through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God.”
When a Christian receives righteousness from God, it’s like they receive an account upgrade with the character of Christ himself. Yes, we’re still sinners in need of a Savior, but something remarkable happens.
His righteousness is attributed to us, like it’s marked on our spiritual balance sheet. In the eyes of God, we’re wrapped in the very character of Christ.
And here’s the twist that shifts our understanding: God is not just tolerating us, but truly pleased with us through Christ. His desires become our desires, and suddenly, we’re standing in His high favor with direct access to Him. Imagine being ushered into the presence of the Royal King of kings, not as a spectator, but as a beloved participant.
As humans, we often think we’re doing pretty well on our own. But God’s perspective is strikingly different. Our self-made achievements are like filthy rags to Him.
He doesn’t just give us a surface-level cleaning; He bestows upon us the very robes of His Son, Jesus, to wear. Not only that, but He treats us with the tenderness and favor that a father showers upon his child.
This isn’t just membership in a club; it’s a place in God’s royal family. The access we have to the greatest King isn’t based on what we’ve done, but on the robes of righteousness we’ve been clothed in through Christ.
So next time you think about your standing with God, remember: it’s not just about being forgiven, it’s about being favored beyond measure.
