Romans 5:3
When trouble comes or when friends forsake you, do you find peace in the workings of God in your life?
It’s a question worth pondering, for within the times of trials, a pattern unfolds — one that Christians celebrate.
It’s like the verse says, “we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;” (Romans 5:3).
Think about it, patience shapes experience, and experience molds a weathered character. Hence, when life’s tribulations find their way into our Christian journey, they become the very chisel that sculpts our steadfastness. Oddly enough, these trials strengthen our character and faith.
When things get tough, something interesting happens. It’s like a puzzle piece coming together when we face hard times. We can feel this special kind of love from God when we’re going through tough stuff.
It’s like the harder the challenge, the more we can feel God’s love deep down inside us. This feeling of hope isn’t just a quick emotion — it’s a strong and unwavering feeling. When we face difficult moments in life, this hope of finding something great and wonderful gets even stronger.
This is what makes a true believer different. Someone who really seeks the truth follows a unique path compared to those who are just religious in a superficial way.
For the latter group, their hopeful foundation is like a mirage — it looks real but isn’t there when they reach out for it. But for us, the trials and tough times we go through are like strong pillars that confirm our connection to the unchanging love that plans out the big picture of eternal life.
