Israel’s War: A Christian View

Romans 8:28

Have you ever wondered about the symphony of groans that resonate through the universe?

According to Paul, in the book of Romans, the earth, the person, and the Holy Spirit all join in an anticipatory chorus of groanings, ultimately filled with hope, as we journey toward our ultimate glory.

But, during these groanings, Paul offers us six reasons to rejoice. Yes, it’s true, we often find ourselves groaning when we witness sin, depravity, and the lostness of the world. Yet, even in the face of such challenges, there is always a comforting reason to rejoice.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose,” declares Romans 8:28.

Take heart! For in the narrative of humanity, it is God who pens the definitive and accurate history. As the story of this world draws to its conclusion, you will come to realize that nothing conspires in favor of the wicked. Ultimately, every thread in the tapestry of existence weaves to the benefit of faithful Christian men and women.

Do you truly believe this, my fellow believers? It’s easy to slip into the mindset that the worst is perpetually unfolding, as if the universe conspires against us.

Perhaps it’s the fear that a single cell might mutate within our bodies, leading to the dreaded diagnosis of cancer.

Or maybe it’s the constant barrage of media attention focused on conflicts, like the ongoing turmoil in Israel, pitting hearts against hearts.

And then there’s the relentless cycle of divisiveness surrounding each new presidential election in the United States. It can indeed seem like the world is spiraling into chaos, with nothing working together.

Yet, if God’s word is true, we find peace in the knowledge that all these seemingly discordant elements work for the good of those who love God.

There is no room for excuses, for we all stumble daily. But remember, the only expectation placed upon us is to heed the call to follow Christ. You are summoned to have faith, to walk in His footsteps, for that is both His purpose and ours.

We are called, and in this calling, we find perhaps the most comforting verse in the entirety of the Bible.
