Lord,
We lift our eyes to You, like servants to their masters, seeking Your guidance and care.
“As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, so our eyes look to the Lord our God” (Psalm 123:2).
We acknowledge Your authority, knowing that You are seated in heaven, ruling over all.
“Our Lord and God, enthroned in heaven. We look to You as servants look to their masters” (Psalm 123:1, adapted).
In times of trouble, we turn to You, our Helper.
We are like a servant, waiting for his master to act, ready to receive mercy and help from You, Lord.
Grant us the wisdom to discern Your will, the strength to carry it out, and the patience to trust Your timing.
“Show us mercy, Lord, and have pity on us. We have had more than enough of the contempt of the proud and the scorn of the arrogant” (Psalm 123:3-4).
May our lives reflect Your love, and may we bring glory to Your name. Our hope and trust are in You alone.
Amen.

I was just reading this same psalm and was struck by the first verse and how awesome we can call upon him! Because of Jesus and his forgiveness he brought to earth through the son of God we celebrate this time of year! I like how it puts it in the amp. You who are enthroned in the heavens. So neat!
