Embraced by Grace: A Psalm 45 Prayer

I am reminded of Your greatness and the splendor of Your kingdom and “My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.”

I praise You for Your righteousness and justice, O God. You are the eternal King, and Your throne is established forever.

“You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

Help me to meditate on Your Word day and night, that I may grow in wisdom and understanding.

“All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad.”

May Your truth and grace flow from my lips, bringing hope and encouragement to those around me.

“Kings’ daughters are among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir.”

Guide me by Your Spirit and lead me in paths of righteousness, that I may walk in obedience to Your will.

“Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention: Forget your people and your father’s house.”

May I be clothed with the garments of salvation and righteousness, reflecting Your glory to the world.

“The princess is decked in her chamber with gold-woven robes; in many-colored robes she is led to the king, with her virgin companions, her escort, in her train.”

Thank You, Lord, for Your love and faithfulness that endure forever.

May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

“Your sons will take the place of your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land.”

In Jesus’ name, I pray,

Amen.

  1. I loved this Psalm 45. I read it today from my Bible. I looked up the meaning of this beautiful Psalm. I had prayed to God about why I felt so unloved, and this prayer came up. Thank you.
