Satan is Lurking

Spiritual warfare is a reality every Christian faces. The Bible warns us that Satan is actively working to cause physical, mental, and spiritual sufferings. His ultimate goal? To keep us from believing and understanding the gospel. It’s not just about rejecting the message—it’s about not even allowing it to take root in our hearts.

Whenever we step out to share the gospel, we encounter an adversary who is determined to prevent people from accepting it.

“When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the one who received seed by the wayside” (Matthew 13:19 KJV).

Imagine explaining the gospel to someone. They understand it at first, but as time passes, the message fades, and they forget. This is not just forgetfulness; it’s a deliberate act of spiritual interference. It’s demonic.

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV).

When the gospel is presented and people don’t believe it, this is more than skepticism—it’s spiritual blindness orchestrated by the enemy.

As Christians, our battle with Satan is constant. He is relentless in his pursuit to disrupt our Christian lives, but we must stand firm and not give him any ground.

“Neither give place to the devil” (Ephesians 4:27 KJV).

Consider the story of a camel on a cold night. The camel asked its owner if it could just put its nose inside the tent to warm up. The owner agreed, but gradually, the camel asked to move more of its body inside. Eventually, the entire camel was in the tent, and the owner was left outside in the cold. This parable illustrates how even a small concession to the devil can lead to greater spiritual compromise.

We must not give any place to the devil. Don’t even let him have a tiny foothold in your life. Resisting the devil is a command given to every Christian. When you stand firm, he will flee from you. But how do we resist?

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11 KJV).

Putting on the armor of God means equipping yourself with spiritual tools—prayer, scripture, faith, and righteousness. These are not just religious rituals; they are your defense against the strategies of the enemy.

We do not wrestle against flesh and blood. This battle isn’t against culture, different religions like Islam, or even the societal norms of our time. We wrestle against spiritual forces, the rulers of darkness in this age—the wicked devil himself. The only way to withstand these challenges is to be spiritually prepared every day.

Reflect on this: where in your life might you be allowing a small foothold for the enemy? Are there areas you need to surrender fully to God’s authority? Today, commit to resisting the devil by standing firm in your faith, immersing yourself in scripture, and seeking God’s strength in every battle you face.

By following these steps, you can stand strong against the schemes of the enemy and live a victorious Christian life. Let’s commit today to putting on the full armor of God and resisting the devil at every turn. You’re not in this fight alone—God is with you, every step of the way.
