Welcome back to our TikTok for Churches series. Each week, I’ll share the content we posted, the results, and my reflections on the process.
This week, we posted 5 social sermon clips, each under a minute. Views remained steady throughout the week.
In an experiment, I posted the same video on two consecutive days—once in the morning and once at night—to see if the time of day would affect its performance. Interestingly, both posts received nearly identical views: 651 on Friday morning and 648 on Friday night. I expected the second post to perform worse since it was the same content, but TikTok still treated it like a new video. Fascinating!
The highlight of this week was a noticeable jump in followers! We went from 56 followers last week to 62 this week. Steady growth is exactly what we aim for in a church TikTok account.
- Followers Gained: 62

TikTok Tip
There are many different directions a church can take when it comes to content creation on TikTok. Here are some ideas:
- Worship: Share videos of your worship team singing or leading the congregation. You could also include behind-the-scenes moments, such as leadership discussions or rehearsals.
- Devotional Messages: The most successful content on LifePointe’s account has been a carousel featuring a Bible verse and a prayer. Short, inspirational messages work well.
- Highlight Your Congregation: Share stories or testimonies from your members about their journey to Christ.
While shorter messages tend to perform better, experimenting with longer videos can also be beneficial.
We’re making steady progress! Our account continues to grow, and we’re building connections with the community around the church. TikTok’s algorithm can be somewhat unpredictable in what gets shown to other users, but I believe the key is to create videos that generate likes, comments, and shares. Focus on this.
