Week 8 of LifePointe’s TikTok Journey

Welcome back to our TikTok for Churches series! Each week, I share the content we’ve posted, the results we’ve seen, and my reflections on the process.

This Week’s Update

This week, we posted four new social sermon clips, most of which were between 1-2 minutes. Views remained steady, with each clip consistently reaching the 700-900 view range, a slight improvement from last week.

We continued with our established content style, from fonts and subtitles to hashtags and descriptions. This consistency is paying off and contributing to our growth.

Key Highlights

  • Followers Gained: 87
  • Total Views: 27,000
  • Post Likes: 2,000

The most notable change this week was a significant increase in followers—a 450% gain over last week. We also saw an additional 4,000 views and 300 post likes.

TikTok Tip

This week, I’ve been inundated with outreach from AI companies offering tools to speed up video editing, captioning, and more. Companies like Sermon Shots, Opus Clips, and Descript are among them.

Here’s what I think: I appreciate the idea of streamlining processes and saving time. For churches that just want to get sermon clips out there, these AI tools could be a viable option. They handle much of the work for you, requiring minimal editing experience. It sounds ideal, doesn’t it?

But there’s a potential downside. The ease of content generation today could lead to oversaturation on social media platforms as more of this technology rolls out. The human touch in social media marketing will become increasingly valuable. There’s something special about a person who listens to a sermon in its entirety and identifies the moments where culture intersects with the gospel. I believe the best clips will come from this approach. It’s not just about the quantity of clips you post but how effectively they connect with your audience.

Moreover, the future of church on social media will increasingly focus on building community. What will stand out are unique perspectives, personal experiences, and an authentic voice. It will require creativity and meaningful engagement. After all, what’s more valuable than having one-on-one conversations about the gospel of Christ? We need to invest more energy in what truly matters rather than the mundane.

Looking Ahead

We’re making solid progress and continuing to build connections with our community. While TikTok’s algorithm can be unpredictable, the key is to keep creating videos that inspire likes, comments, and shares.

Feel free to share any tips for improving reach or ask questions about TikTok engagement or other social media ministry ideas.
