Week 10 of LifePointe’s TikTok Journey

Welcome back to our TikTok for Churches series! Each week, I share the content we’ve posted, the results we’ve seen, and my reflections on the process.

This Week’s Update

This week, we posted four new social sermon clips, most of which were between 22 seconds and 2 minutes long. Views remained steady, with each clip consistently reaching around 600 views. Additionally, some of last week’s clips gained traction this week, with two of them accumulating an additional 1,000 views each.

Key Highlights

  • Followers Gained: 109 (+11)
  • Total Views: 35,000 (+6,000)
  • Post Likes: 2,400 (+350)

TikTok Tip

TikTok is traditionally seen as the platform to reach a younger audience, and why wouldn’t we want to reach teens and those in their twenties? This is the age when many decide whether they truly want to go to church or not.

LifePointe’s reach supports this idea. Since the channel was started, 66% of our viewers have been under 34 years old, with 25% being under the age of 24. Engaging with this younger audience allows LifePointe to present church in a new way. For many of these viewers, this may be their only Biblical influence for the week.

Our channel is resonating with them. However, I think any church would benefit from speaking directly to the younger generation in their congregation, asking them about the type of Christian content they prefer and why. This can provide valuable insights on how to better engage younger generations with your content.

Going forward, this is my suggestion for LifePointe: Create content that allows for more interaction. Casual interviews with the pastor and more informal ways of presenting information could be key to growing the channel faster.

A Final Thought

This week, I used longer sermon video clips in general, and I think it hurt our views a bit. I’m still trying to find the “sweet spot” for clip length, and so far, that seems to be under 30 seconds.

Looking Ahead

We’re making solid progress and continuing to build connections with our community. While TikTok’s algorithm remains unpredictable, the key is to keep creating videos that encourage likes, comments, and shares.

Feel free to share any tips for improving reach or ask any questions about TikTok engagement or social media ministry ideas!
