Welcome back to the TikTok for Churches series! Every week, I share the content we’ve posted, insights we’ve gained, and my reflections on this journey. We’re now at Week 12, and it’s been quite the adventure so far. Let’s dive into this week’s update and explore how churches can make a greater impact through TikTok.
This Week’s Update
This week, we posted four new sermon clips, each ranging from 20 seconds to 1 minute in length. Our views remained steady, with each video consistently reaching around 700 views. Even though it may seem like the numbers haven’t skyrocketed, consistency is key in TikTok’s algorithm. The more regularly we post, the more engagement we see overall.
Key Highlights:
- Followers Gained: 126 (+4)
- Total Views: 43,000 (+4,000)
- Post Likes: 2,900 (+300)
These may seem like modest gains, but they’re part of a larger pattern of growth. Every new follower and like represents another individual we’re reaching with the Gospel message. We’re not just counting numbers; we’re connecting with people.

Churches Can Make TikTok Better
One concern many churches have with TikTok is the sheer amount of inappropriate content. The platform is often criticized for promoting profanity or questionable material. But here’s the thing: TikTok is just a tool. Like any social platform, it can be used for good or bad. Our mission is to fill it with good.
Churches can make TikTok a better, more uplifting space by creating and sharing faith-based content. In a sea of negativity, your church’s videos can be a beacon of hope and encouragement. The more positive, Christ-centered content we share, the more we can help others curate a healthier, more meaningful TikTok feed.
When users interact with your videos, TikTok’s algorithm takes note and starts showing them more content like yours. It’s a ripple effect. As a church, you have the power to shift the tone of the platform—one video at a time.
Suggest Users to Check Out
Another great way to enhance your presence on TikTok is by encouraging your audience to follow other Christian creators. TikTok is still relatively new, and while your church doesn’t have to carry the entire weight of sharing Christian content, you can guide your followers to more inspiring voices.
There are many Christian influencers on TikTok who are already sharing their love for God and Jesus. For example, the hashtag #Jesus has over 85 million views. Clearly, people are seeking faith-based content on the platform—they just need more of it. By recommending other creators and influencers, you’re not only building community but also helping your audience find more valuable content that reinforces their faith.
Looking Ahead
We’re making solid strides in our TikTok journey. Each week brings new insights, challenges, and opportunities to connect with people who need to hear the message of Christ. As we look ahead, we’re excited to experiment more with trending content, fine-tune our hashtag strategies, and continue producing sermon clips that resonate with viewers.
The goal is to build a steady rhythm of creating engaging content while staying true to our mission. Even though TikTok’s algorithm may seem unpredictable, the key is consistency. Keep showing up, keep sharing your message, and trust that God is working through every like, comment, and share.
As always, if you have any tips for improving reach or questions about TikTok engagement, feel free to reach out. Together, we can explore new ways to expand God’s Kingdom through digital platforms.
