Romans 4:16–17

Did you ever wonder why Abraham holds such significance in the Bible?

It’s all about faith! Faith is the key to unlocking God’s abundant grace. The verses in Romans 4:16 shed light on this connection between faith and grace.

“For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,” (Romans 4:16).

You see, it’s through faith that we align ourselves with grace, making the promise of God accessible to all of Abraham’s descendants, not just those who follow the Law but also those who share in Abraham’s faith.

The way God treated Abraham is precisely how He treats all of His children. You may ask yourself, “Why does God refer to Abraham as the father of all nations in verse 17?”

Well, the answer lies in the fact that there are justified people from every corner of the earth. Abraham’s role as a spiritual father extends far beyond just Israel and the Jewish community.

In the present day, there exists a vast multitude of people across the globe who possess the same unwavering faith that Abraham once had.

So, you see, it’s not just about bloodlines or genealogy; it’s about faith that transcends boundaries and connects us all. Just as Abraham’s faith justified him in God’s eyes, so too can our faith lead us to experience God’s abundant grace.

It’s a timeless truth that resonates across cultures, ages, and beliefs - the power of faith to unite us all as part of God’s family.
