Is True Peace Attainable Through Faith?

Romans 5:1–2

Ever wondered about the truths hidden within the book of Romans?

It’s a collection of both solemn and joyous truths that paint a vivid picture. Let’s look into these truths together and unravel the beauty within.

The solemn truths cut deep. They tell us that we’re all deliberate and inexcusable sinners, bound to face God’s unescapable judgment. It’s a heavy realization, leaving us with a longing for something more. That something is grace, a grace that paves the way to righteousness before God.

And that’s where the good news of the gospel shines bright. It’s all about Christ’s sacrifice carrying the weight of our sins. This is how we find justification through faith.

Picture this: blessings and privileges shower us once we’re justified.

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God,” (Romans 5:1–2).

Through faith, we attain peace with God, thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ. He’s the bridge leading us into the grace we stand in, and with hope, we celebrate the glory of God.

Imagine being at odds with God, your unrighteousness causing a rift. But now, thanks to Christ’s sacrifice, that anger has been carried away on the cross. No condemnation hangs over us, for the penalty has been paid!

This goes beyond mere peace of mind. Paul speaks of a profound relationship with God, a connection that brings you into His presence.

Tomorrow holds no fear because you’re anchored in God’s peace, a peace that surpasses human understanding. It’s more than just being at peace; it’s being united with Christ, your worst fears stripped away.

So, as we journey through the book of Romans, remember these truths. The solemn ones teach us about our need for grace, and the joyous ones reveal the profound peace and union we can find with our Creator.
