Dear Heavenly Father,
As I come before You in this moment of stillness and gratitude, I am reminded of the words from 1 John 2 that say,
“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One”.
Lord, I am so thankful for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is my advocate and my righteousness.
Thank You for the assurance that, even when I stumble and fall, His love and grace are there to lift me up.
Tonight, as I lay my head to rest, I reflect on your words which tells me to walk as Jesus walked.
I pray that You help me live a life that reflects His love, compassion, and humility in all that I do.
I bring before You my concerns and worries, knowing that You teach us not to love the world or the things in it.
Please help me, dear Lord, to keep my focus on You and to not be swayed by the temptations of this world. Fill my heart with a love for You that surpasses all earthly desires.
Lord, You remind me that whoever loves their brother and sister lives in the light. I pray for the strength to love those around me, even when it’s challenging, just as You have loved me.
May my actions and words be a reflection of Your love and grace.
In the stillness of this night, I find comfort in the promise, “And this is what he promised us—eternal life.”
Thank You, Lord, for the hope of eternal life through faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ.
As I close my eyes and surrender my cares to You, I trust in Your love and faithfulness.
May Your peace envelop me, and may I wake tomorrow with renewed strength and a heart filled with Your love.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.
