Morning Prayer from 1 John 4

Dear Heavenly Father,

As I awaken from my slumber and step into this new day, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and love.

I am reminded of Your words, which say, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”

Lord, I thank You for the love You have poured into my life and the love You inspire me to share with others.

“God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”

I am humbled by the truth that Your presence is with me always, that You dwell within me, and that Your love is my constant companion.

As I rise from my bed, I ask for Your guidance and strength to carry out the message: “And this commandment we have from Him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.”

Help me, Lord, to love my fellow human beings as You have loved me, without judgment or prejudice, and to extend Your love to all those I encounter today.

Lord, I am aware of the challenges and trials that may come my way, but I take comfort in the assurance: “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

With You by my side, I can face any obstacle, knowing that Your love and strength will see me through. In this moment of quiet reflection, I remember the words: “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.”

Lord, banish any fear or anxiety that may try to creep into my heart.

Fill me with Your perfect love, a love that calms my soul and gives me the courage to face the day ahead.

As I prepare for the tasks and responsibilities of this day, I commit myself to live out the words: “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

May my actions and words be a reflection of Your love, dear Lord, so that others may see Your light shining through me.

In closing, I thank You for the precious gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who exemplified the greatest love of all by sacrificing Himself for our sins.

In His name, I pray, amen. Thank you, Lord, for the assurance of Your love and the guidance of Your Word as I begin this new day.

May Your love shine through me in all I do.

Amen.
