Guided by Promise Prayer for Tonight

Man praying in a field – prayer for healing and strength

My Heavenly Father,

In moments of uncertainty, remind us that ‘The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him, my heart trusts, and I am helped.’

Your plans for us are filled with hope, for You declare, ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.’

Today, we cast our burdens upon You, trusting that ‘Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.’

Grant us courage in times of fear, for You promise, ‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’

May we wait upon You and find renewed strength, ‘But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.’

Comfort those who are brokenhearted, for You save the crushed in spirit, as stated in ‘The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.’

Lord, we place our trust fully in You, acknowledging Your surpassing understanding, as we’re reminded to ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.’

Wrap us in Your everlasting arms, for ‘The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms.’

Grant us the strength to be strong and courageous, for You promise, ‘Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.’

Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds, as You’ve said, ‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.’

Fill us with joy, peace, and overflowing hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit, in accordance with ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.’

In all circumstances, may our confidence remain unshaken, knowing that You supply all our needs according to Your glorious riches, as Your Word assures, ‘And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.’

Thank You for Your mercy, grace, and boundless love that sustains us.

Amen.
