God’s Glory: A Psalm 8 Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I am filled with awe and wonder at Your magnificent creation and Your boundless love for humanity.

Your name is majestic in all the earth, and Your glory is displayed in the heavens above.

“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place, what is mankind that You are mindful of them, human beings that You care for them?”

Lord, I am humbled by Your attention to us, frail and finite as we are.

Thank You for Your unfailing love and Your tender care.

I am amazed by Your sovereignty and Your power, “You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of Your hands; You put everything under their feet.”

Thank You for entrusting us with stewardship over Your creation.

Help us to walk in humility and responsibility before You.

I am grateful for Your presence and Your provision, “Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!”

Thank You for revealing Yourself to us and for inviting us into relationship with You.

May our lives reflect Your glory and Your goodness to the world around us.

In the beauty of Your creation and the wonder of Your love, I find my heart lifted in praise and adoration.

You alone are worthy of all honor and praise, now and forevermore.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen.
