Pray for Dad -Proverbs 4

Heavenly Father,

On this Father’s Day, I come before You with a heart overflowing with love, lifting up my earthly father to You.

I am so thankful for the wisdom and guidance he has imparted to me, just as Proverbs 4:1 says, “Listen, my sons, to a father’s instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.”

Lord, You have blessed me with a father who not only teaches me but also embodies Your love and wisdom.

“For I too was a son to my father, still tender, and cherished by my mother” (Proverbs 4:3).

I see Your love reflected in his eyes, Your strength in his hands, and Your wisdom in his words. Thank You for this precious gift.

Help me, Lord, to cherish the lessons my father teaches me, to hold them close to my heart as Your Word commands: “Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live” (Proverbs 4:4).

May I always remember his teachings and live by them, gaining wisdom and understanding.

Lord, I remember the times when he patiently helped me learn a lesson, the moments we spent together laughing and talking, and the way he has always been there to support me.

These memories are treasures that I hold dear, and I am grateful for his steady love and presence in my life.

I ask that You continue to bless my father with the knowledge and strength he needs to lead and guide our family. “Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them” (Proverbs 4:5).

Fill his heart with Your peace and joy, and let him feel Your presence in every moment.

Lord, I pray that my father feels honored and loved, not just today but every day. “Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you” (Proverbs 4:6).

Protect him, guide him, and surround him with Your unfailing love. May he know how deeply he is cherished by his family and by You.

As I grow and learn, help me to embody the wisdom he shares with me. “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7).

May I honor my father by living a life that reflects the values he has instilled in me, bringing glory to Your name.

Thank You, Lord, for the beautiful bond we share, for the moments of laughter, the lessons learned, and the love that flows between us.

“Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown” (Proverbs 4:8-9).

Let our relationship be a testament to Your goodness and grace.

I pray that the Holy Spirit continues to work through my father, guiding him and filling him with Your divine wisdom.

May his days be filled with joy, peace, and the knowledge of Your everlasting love.

In the name of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, I pray.

Amen.
