Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a heart burdened for our nation and our government.
As we approach the upcoming presidential election, I seek Your guidance, wisdom, and peace over our land. Your Word says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12). We ask that You be the guiding light for our country.
Lord, we pray for wisdom for our leaders, both current and future.
Your Word instructs us, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
Help us to lift up our leaders in prayer, seeking Your guidance and blessing upon them.
We pray for unity in our nation.
“If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand” (Mark 3:24). Bring us together, Lord, despite our differences.
Help us to listen to one another with open hearts and minds, and to work together for the common good.
Your Word promises, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
We humble ourselves before You, seeking forgiveness for our sins and asking for Your healing over our land.
Guide the hearts and minds of the voters as they make their decisions. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Help us to trust in You and seek Your will as we cast our votes.
Protect our nation during this election season. “The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore” (Psalm 121:8).
Keep us safe from harm, and let the process be fair and just.
Finally, we pray for peace, Lord. “The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).
Fill our hearts with Your peace, and help us to trust in Your sovereign plan for our nation.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers.
We trust in Your wisdom and guidance as we navigate this important time.
