The Power of the Gospel

Romans 1:16–17

Have you ever wondered what exactly we’re talking about when we preach the gospel and share about Jesus Christ?

Sure, it’s more than just knowing who Jesus is. There’s so much depth and meaning behind it all.

Let’s start with a powerful verses from the book of Romans: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: ‘BUT THE RIGHTEOUS ONE WILL LIVE BY FAITH’” (Romans 1:16–17).

So, what exactly is the gospel? It’s not just a bunch of words or stories. It’s the embodiment of His person and His work. And through the gospel, we discover the way to restore our relationship with God.

You see, God is completely righteous, while we as humans tend to fall short and struggle with sin. The question arises: How can we, as sinful individuals, be brought back into a right relationship with a holy and righteous God? It’s within the gospel that the righteousness of God is unveiled.

The gospel teaches us that none of us can earn our way into God’s favor. It all begins and ends with faith. In order to reconcile with God, we must have faith in Jesus Christ. That’s the essence of the gospel. It’s what we need to do to attain eternal salvation.

And here’s the amazing part: It’s the power of the gospel that God uses to save people. Yes, you heard that right. He saves each and every person who trusts and has faith in Christ. That’s why it’s so important for people to hear this message. It’s what brings them into a right and beautiful relationship with Him.

So, the gospel is so much more than a mere concept. It’s the powerful force that leads us to salvation and enables us to experience God’s righteousness. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can find true restoration and eternal life. Let’s embrace this message and share it with others, for it holds the key to a life-changing relationship with our Creator.
